Mim Rasouli, born in 1992 in Iran, is a self-taught, multidisciplinary artist working across music, comedy, design, and content creation. He has contributed to many projects, as a composer, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, comedian, Sound Effects Editor, podcaster, graphic designer, and video creator.

◜ Early Path

From the age of 14 to 19, he began his artistic journey by playing keyboard at weddings and working in computer services. At 19, he managed to build his first music setup, and just a year later, he received his first commissioned composition project. He studied graphic design and visual arts, a background he has applied in book cover design, music artwork, posters, and brochures. Skills and Experience While his main instrument is the Setar, Mim Rasouli is also experienced in playing the keyboard, tar, santour, and kamancheh. During his mandatory military service, he served as a trumpet player in an army marching band for two years. Remarkably, he is entirely self-taught and has never attended any formal music classes. Since 2012, alongside his personal projects, he has collaborated with numerous prominent brands, composing for films, animations, commercials, video games, TV series, theatre productions, sonic branding, and more.

Notable Works

"Among his independent projects, the 'Persian Game of Thrones' gained widespread attention, and 'GTA San Andreas – Persian Style' even received praise from Michael Hunter, the original composer of GTA."

On the commercial side, his notable works include the theme music for the late-night show "Chandshanbeh Ba Sina" and several TV idents for Radio Javan. He has worked with major brands such as Henkel, Hoffenberg, Unilever, Kalleh, Irancell, Digikala, BluBank, Snapp, and others.

He has composed for films such as “Alone Among the Taliban”, “Icky”, “How to Be Human”, and “I’m Not My Body”. His music for the film “016” won Best Original Score at the Nahal Film Festival in 2022

In the gaming world, he composed music for titles like “Farsh”, “Fatherhood”, “Tandis”, and “Engareh”. Notably, the music for Engareh was performed live at GDC 2025 by an orchestra conducted by the legendary composer Austin Wintory.

Style and Innovation

Mim Rasooli has worked across a wide range of musical styles, but he is best known for his fusion works; creating Iranian and Oriental versions of iconic global songs and remixing traditional Persian music.

He was likely the first artist to remix traditional Iranian music in a contemporary form, and also the first artist to remix religious chants and prayers into modern arrangements; and making them accessible to younger generations. Creativity, innovation, and Pioneering have become defining features of his work.

Other Activities

Beyond music, Mim Rasouli has always had a passion for making people happy. For years, his humorous videos have gone viral on social media, including projects like Mazandarani Pulp Fiction and Gangs of Iran. He continues in this direction today, creating comedic content and stand-up videos.

He also produces a unique style of video content that remains unprecedented in Iran—intricate audiovisual collages built from vintage film footage, meticulously edited and synchronized to original music. He single-handedly manages every stage of the process: from ideation, scriptwriting, and research, to composing, arranging, and editing.

Among his signature projects is a collection of Nowruz-themed music—the first professionally crafted series in Iran dedicated exclusively to the Iranian New Year. These works are in high demand by major brands each year.

In 2017, he launched a podcast called Moozigh, a 50-episode series featuring hour-long episodes dedicated to introducing rare and lesser-known music from around the world.
